Is it just me, or do other people go days at a time without leaving their bed and have to find activities to force themselves out into the world? Just me? Okay cool. Well here’s one instance of forcing myself to leave my bed.
I’ve been telling myself to explore more of England for approximately 38274 days, so finally one day while in a funk and hour 126 of sitting around watching TV I decided I needed to get out and get some non-city air in my lungs, so I bought a train ticket to Seaford.
I have seen Seaford and the Seven Sisters cliffs on TV shows (Series 4 of Luther, anyone?) and, of course, all over Instagram, so I bought a ticket, packed up my camera and some snacks, and headed to the train station.
It is about a 3 hour journey (including a stop/change in Brighton) from London Victoria to Seaford, but easily done for a day trip. Once I got to Seaford station, Google Maps told me to go one direction to get to the beach where there is a view of the cliffs. After looking at the map, I discovered there was another more scenic walk to get there, so off I went. This path takes you from the beach in Seaford up a cliff walk, and eventually down to the picturesque cottages and gorgeous views of the sea and the cliffs.
I got very lucky with the weather that day, it was perfectly clear. Windy, as it always is near the sea in England, but clear. The walk from the train station to the viewpoint takes about 50 minutes, but totally worth it. If you’re trying to map it out, use the Coastguard Cottages as a destination instead of the beach. That will take you to the path along the cliffs.
Now that you have the need to know details on how to get there, I’ll let the photos do the talking.

Views for days. These cottages have to have one of the best views in England, and probably some crazy weather at times.

You can get down to the beach from this path as well.

The beach in town is also worth a peak, and you have to go past it anyways.

Did I mention the town of Seaford is also adorable? I didn’t spend much time there, but I did take different paths to and from the cliff walk to get as much exploring in as I could.

Over all, this was such a nice location. I felt like a new human after getting out and getting some fresh air and these views. If you’re looking for a day trip from London, and the weather is cooperating, hit up Seaford. You won’t regret it.
Oh, and don’t worry, if you go during the week no one will notice when you’re awkwardly taking pictures of yourself with a tripod and self timer.
Toth out.
